The photos of Oscar are posted on Facebook. Plus his little video where he chases the frog.
Very nice when new families send the photos of the pups in their new homes.
Peach and Gil are waiting for their new home.

Dori is doing fine
Talked to Cindy. Dori is doing fine in California and going to the office with her and learning her routine. Sleeping well thru the night but wants a lot of attention and greeting everyone in a nice way like she did in the Greenhouse. Go Dori! Good Girl!
Kadie has a $50 lunch one day
Our friend Kadie Bell was the one who ate everything in site. So you had to be putting stuff all the time. More later on her toilet paper roll episodes. Well anyway she went to visit Karl for a couple of weeks at Indiana University. She loved everyone and was having a great time.
Karl left a $50 dollar bill on the coffee table. Well in a few minutes when Karl was in the kitchen our Kadie Bell devoured it. It was all gone and she was all smile knowing only she had a small portion of the paper she would try to find each day. I think this was a $50 dollar lesson for Karl and great fun for the rest of us for years. Karl can add to the story.

Okay I created chaos with the Willow pups
Well is it Sat am and has been a couple of weeks since I have seen Willows pups.
I am tired from being up at 2:30 am to get Dori to the airport.
So I make the trip to Lexington to see the pups. Wonderful cloudy chilly day for a Sat.
The pups are at home in Lexington and Willow is so excited to see me again.
We decide why not do outside photos after all we are at a Garden Center in Lexington.
So we do what needs to be done but in the process using two hanging baskets destroy them trying to get good shots of the pups. Pups are great but at three weeks they have the sqirmies bigtime. Wonderful shots of them. it takes three people to do a shoot of photos.
One to hold the pups and one to get them to look at you and one to shoot the photos.
After all the chaos with the three pups we try to get some photos of Willow.
First mistake Willow does not like being in hanging basket on the porch. She bounds off the porch with the basket and we start over with some shots in the grass. We have had our 30 minutes of chaos. Photos to be posted of the three pups. Nice Pups.

Dori is in California- Jolie pup
Got the call this week that Dori would go to Long Beach Ca. So we got her papers ready and crate and were ready Friday night. Sat am it was up at 2:30 AM> Dori and Richard were up and headed to Louisville. We arrived at the ticket counter at 4 am and they didnt open until 4:30 am.
Then we were told we needed to go check in at Cargo for AA. They opened and little Dori was checked in by 5:30 and she was set to go. No guarantee but there was room.
She left Louisville and then to Chicago then to San Franciso and then to Long Beach.
She arrived on time. When I got home sent the Text message to Cindy = Dori is on the way and on time. I checked the tracker at 9 am and all was going well. About 2;28 pm Cindy has Dori.
Dori is tow and is adorable. Called Cindy later and she was doing great and having a ball with our bud. So now it is Gil and Peach playing together with Penelope and Shiloh.
What a pit in the stomach when you leave the pup in the crate and they are entrusted to the airlines. But so far all the time the airlines have been wonderful. They fly in the cargo hatch in a special place. Must have food with them and health cert and be 8 weeks old to get their wings.
Amazing to me when you pick them up from the litter mates they dont know this is the last time for the most part they will see the buddies they have snuggled with for 16 plus weeks and entered the world and then off to wonderfull new familes!

Yes Kadie reminded me in eating habits of being?
Kadit Bell was so funny in many ways. One of her favorite habits or games was get the cap off the bottle. Was asking Jacque what she recalled of Kadie Bell and she would play a game better than any dog. We would finish drinking water from a plastic bottle and put the cap on as tight as we could. She would run after the fresh empty bottle. Her game was to beat everyone else to the bottle and protect her prize. She would growl at any other dog coming by so they would not get her bottle or prize. Immediately Kadie would begin the task of getting the bottle cap off and the label off the water bottle. Sometimes it took awhile but she would not stop until it was removed.
Then we would chase her down to get the bottle cap and toss it in the trash. Kadie Bell absolutely loved the puzzle and game. Then once the cap was off it was time to play with the empty bottle either tug of war with another dog or shake shake the bottle until she was silly.
She had great fun and no one ever did it quite the same with the intensity she had.
More later on the bottle cap and being a goat!

Jolies pups and the chimnea
Trying to write a little more each day to capture more on the pups from Jolie
Last night the three and me plus Sarah started the outdoor chimnea which we had not done in years. Lil Gill just sat in my lap barely awake looking at the fire.
He was mesmorized or whatever you call it just with glazed eyes looking at the fire for a good long time. The two girls just lay in the grass keeping warm.
Sure gonna miss my velcro pups.
Some folks are coming to see them and they are 8 weeks tomorrow.
Just playing and beginning to fuss at each other when they play.
They are staying at night in the crate so they are crate trained and ready for their new home.
Good night all

Piper and Potion haircuts another part of being a good breeder
It is not only taking care of the pups which takes time it is also the care and upkeep of the mamas and the papas. All take attention to keep groomed and clipped and toenails trimmed.
The monthly heartgard and keeping current with shots and being wormed.
All takes time and seems there are never enough hours in the day.
But it is so important to keep the crew cleaned and in good shape and feed and watered properly. A good adequate supply of water is so important to all dogs.
Piper and Potion got a good trim this evening and ready to go.
It sure is nice when the Boss My Kristian helps out..

Our loved Kadie Bell
Our first mini was Kadie Bell a Salt and Pepper female passed this last Thursday after being hit by a car in Northern Kentucky. Kadie was placed in a retirement home last August and was loved by her new family as well as our Family here at BG minis. She was with her new family on a walk and Kadie broke from her leash and was hit by a car while on a walk. She was indeed a great family companion and loved by so many going back to our days in Minnesota. She came to us a small pup 8 weeks old and we will have always the first spot in our heart as our first mini schnauzer. In the rest of my posts I will talk about the things we did together and what she did for me and how she helped me. I will talk and write about the funny things she did during her lifetime. From the days she played with Aspen the Golden retriever in Hutchinson MN to the car rides. Kadie was known and loved by all the neighbors on Skyview Circle in Hutch. She was born in August for 2004 and came to us in the early fall. She was with us thru what I might call the great transition time for our family. We all have so many good memories of the " Thick Schnauzer" as she was called. More on all this later. I write with great sadness but also a great sense of joy for what we were allowed to share in her lifetime both us at BG minis and her family in Northern KY. Little did I know later last fall would be the last greeting I got from Kadie Bell and it was a memorable as they all were on my returns home. I am sure gonna miss ya Kadie Bell. Shadow your first buddy is here with me tonight and I have no way to tell here you are gone but I will always remember Kadie Bell and Sadie and Shadow playing when there were only the three!
Our Kadie Bells greatest love was for people and car rides.
She was the one was first at the door to go for a car ride. She was waiting for the leash.
The bounding off for the pickup or car for the " Car Ride"
Oh how she loved the fresh air. She would go from side to side of the truck wanting to look out.
Someone would be riding with me and hold Kadie so she could feel the air rushing by as we were driving thru town. What a vivid memory of this being left with all of us our beloved " Kadie Bell"
From time to time I will write of our joys ( not from the sadness of your sudden departure ) but from our joyfull experiences with Kadie Bell.
We loved you so much and we cherish the pleasant memories we shared!
For sure every Mini is special and special to each family! Richard and all the gang at BG Minis in Versailles KY

Puppy playtime in the front yard.
This evening once again all the neighborhood kids joined in the front yard and played with the three pups we have from Jolie. Great fun by all and this a part of the socialization of the pups playing with kids and hearing and seeing all the activity. They are doing great.
They have also made a couple of trips to the Greenhouse and garden center to see a new enviroment and get used to car rides. This is important for all pups to see new enviroments.

Bruce went home on Saturday
Bruce the nice little pup from Jolie went home on Saturday. He will be missed by the BG minis and his brother Gil and sisters from Jolie. He like all the pups is a very good little boy.
His new family was waiting since December for him to go home. So it was a big day for Bruce and he is now named Oscar. We look forward to hearing from his new home.
